‘MedChat’ podcast, episode 7: Neurologists discuss epilepsy diagnoses

This episode, “Epilepsy for the Primary Care Provider,” discusses epilepsy diagnoses. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2015 data, approximately 40,000 to 50,000 adults in Kentucky have epilepsy. Prior to a diagnosis of epilepsy, a primary care practitioner may be the first provider to see a patient suspected of having had a seizure. Additionally, that provider may be responsible for initial diagnosis and treatment as well as referral to a specialist.
