‘MedChat’ podcast, episodes 5 and 6: Medically assisted treatment for opioid use disorder

Episodes five and six of the “MedChat” podcast are now available.

Both episodes, “Medically Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder,” a two-part topic, address the rise in overdose fatalities in Kentucky. It is critical for physicians and providers to be aware of the prevalence of illegal drugs and understand this culture — as legal prescribing guidelines and availability continue to be more restrictive, and addicted patients may seek their “high” from illegal sources.

Moderator James T. Jennings, M.D., executive medical director, adult primary care and provider well-being, Norton Medical Group; speaks with Jonathan W. Weeks, M.D. Dr. Weeks is a maternal-fetal medicine physician with Norton Children’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine and is medical director of the Norton Maternal Opiate and Substance Treatment (MOST) Program.
