Dr. Tennant received his medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Memphis and his residency training in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at the University of Louisville. He completed a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction in 2014 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Before accepting his position at Norton Cancer Institute, he served as a faculty member at the University of Louisville in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery for over seven years. He also served as the president of the Kentucky Society of Otolaryngology from 2017 to 2018. He is the author of many peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has worked collaboratively with many health care providers in the community and region to improve outcomes for head and neck cancer patients.

He joins Mia Jusufbegovic, M.D., head and neck surgical oncologist, as well as a wide range of specialists, including otolaryngologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, cancer rehabilitation specialists, an oncologic dermatologist, nutritionists and speech language pathologists.
