
The Pediatric Behavioral and Mental Health Symposium will provide insight into key issues and challenges affecting children of Kentucky. These include the opioid crisis, pediatric suicidality, human trafficking and exposure to violence.
Topics covered at the symposium include:
- Recommended screenings for suicidal ideation in elementary school-age children
- Treatment options for post-traumatic stress disorder and resources available to families
- Treatment strategies for depression in children and adolescents
- The warning signs for human trafficking that present during a pediatric visit
- The impact of the opioid crisis on Kentucky kids
- The importance of screening for toxic exposures and traumatic events in children and adolescents

Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) Approved Provider: Norton Healthcare, provider number 4-002-12-20-072.
