The 2018 Spine Symposium, provided by Norton Healthcare and Norton Leatherman Spine Center took place on Sept. 14 at the Seelbach Hilton.
The objectives for information presented at the symposium were to be able to:
- Examine adult and pediatric patients presenting with spinal problems and recommend appropriate treatment
- Recognize spinal conditions that require emergent referral for treatment
- Develop the techniques to identify and treat spinal deformity
- Identify alternative treatment options available for spine-related pain
The full-day symposium included physicians from Norton Leatherman Spine Center presenting on a wide variety of topics including the basics of spinal anatomy, the physical exam of the spine, diagnosing and treating adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, treating metabolic bone disease, treatment and management of adult spinal deformity, team approach to spine tumors and more.
