Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, is the research arm of Norton Children’s. It supports groundbreaking research at Norton Children’s Hospital, Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital and specialty outpatient services of Norton Children’s Medical Group, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.
Norton Children’s Research Institute’s innovative approach consolidates research services and staff to maximize the success of pediatric investigators rather than sequester support staff within individual divisions. This approach provides flexibility by creating the opportunity to shift resources where they are needed most while minimizing administrative burden on individual researchers and division chiefs.
Norton Children’s Research Institute currently supports more than 200 clinical research professionals on studies across the full spectrum of pediatric and adolescent care. Our portfolio of about 300 active studies includes translational research, investigational device studies, health outcome studies, biorepository and bench lab research, data collection, and Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 clinical trials.
Researcher Support
Norton Children’s Research Institute provides full-service research support, including protocol development, research study operations, grant writing and support, budget development, post-award accounting, regulatory support, data request fulfillment, and analytical support. Our team supports research from idea conception and startup to implementation and publication.
