About the Nixon Lectureship

The death of a loved one to ovarian cancer nearly 20 years ago sparked a Louisville family’s quest to defeat what’s often called “the silent killer.” Over two decades, Gouverneur H. “Bo” Nixon and his family have touched nearly all aspects of cancer care at Norton Healthcare through funding and involvement in education, prevention, and treatment.

The family established this lectureship in memory of Bo’s late wife, Dorothy P. “Dotsie” Nixon. The lecture seeks to raise awareness around the need for cutting-edge gynecologic cancer treatments and the latest in palliative care techniques.
