Norton Neuroscience Institute, a part of Norton Healthcare, is seeking a fellowship-trained physician with an interest in a neurocritical care opportunity. Norton Healthcare operates the area’s largest comprehensive stroke care system, with four adult-service hospitals accredited by The Joint Commission. They include two Primary Stroke Centers and one Acute Stroke Ready Center, as well as one Comprehensive Stroke Center: Norton Brownsboro Hospital
in northeast Louisville.
The ideal candidate will join a team of board-certified neuroscience physicians, neurosurgeons and advanced practice providers at Norton Brownsboro Hospital, which serves as a regional referral destination. The neurocritical care team uses a multidisciplinary approach and works with nearly 130 adult and pediatric neuroscience providers who are part of Norton Neuroscience Institute.
Due to the needs of our community, Norton Healthcare has a strong demand for a neurocritical care intensivist to support our growing program and expanding facilities, including a new comprehensive neuroscience space. Norton Neuroscience Institute is the leading provider for neuroscience services in the area. Our neurocritical care program has established referral patterns from other Norton Neuroscience Institute neurologists, providers within Norton Medical Group (Norton Healthcare’s employed physician group), and community providers seeking tertiary expertise throughout the region.
“We serve a wide range of patients and conditions, including a high-volume of stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage, status epilepticus, neuromuscular disorders, complex postoperative patients and more. Our team coordinates care in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary setting supported by ICU pharmacists, 24-hour EEG service, and advanced-practice respiratory therapists. The work is very challenging and rewarding with the potential for immense growth moving forward.”
