Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scanner
-
Two 256-slice CT scanners x Biplane interventional suite
-
FerriScan for liver or cardiac iron quantification x Fluoroscopy equipment
-
Advanced cardiac imaging (CT and MRI) to help diagnose and evaluate children and adults with congenital heart disease
-

Digital X-ray technology that use minimal radiation compared with older machines
This advanced technology allows the group to read an average of 7,000 MRIs, 6,000 CTs, 10,500 ultrasounds and 55,000 X-rays annually. Other facilities served by the team include Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital and Norton Children’s Medical Center, in which a new 3T Siemens magnet has recently been installed.
Since 2020, Norton Children’s Medical Group has recruited over 100 providers; added four new accredited fellowships; expanded outreach throughout Kentucky; and increased funding through National Institutes of Health grants, industry-sponsored grants, and registry and trial drug network funding through Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.
