Norton Cancer Institute’s new genitourinary patient navigator program was developed to easily connect patients with noncancerous genitourinary conditions to a urologist. Our navigators can help support your patients with the following genitourinary medical conditions: • Precancerous diagnosis • Benign condition • Elevated PSA • Hematuria • Renal mass • Testicular mass • Bladder mass
If your primary care patient has a noncancerous genitourinary issue, our team of navigators can: • Handle the referral to a urologist • Facilitate diagnostic testing • Educate the patient on their condition, test results and next steps for care
By using our navigator program when a urology referral is needed, you can be assured that your patient will be scheduled and examined by a urologist, and you will be kept informed of the next steps in their care.
When making a referral in Epic, select the order “Referral to Urology AND GU Nurse Navigator.” A referral will be sent to the navigators’ work queue.
