Dr. Rahman studied psychology in his undergraduate work at Emory University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Dr. Rahman completed a sports medicine fellowship at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where he served as the team physician for Tennessee State University and Fisk University. During his training, he worked with sports medicine physicians for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans as well as Vanderbilt University, and he served as team physician for multiple high schools in the Nashville area.

Dr. Rahman has expertise in nonsurgical sports medicine, which includes the evaluation and management of patients who want to stay healthy and active. He has experience in treating patients of all ages and is familiar with care of athletes in a variety of sports disciplines, including athletes training for marathons, triathlons, boxing and mixed martial arts.

Dr. Rahman provides ultrasound-guided joint injections and aspirations, and viscosupplementation. These nonsurgical treatments can help patients with orthopedic issues of the elbow, wrist/hand, shoulder, knee and hip.

In his personal time, Dr. Rahman enjoys playing sports, especially basketball and tennis. He is a Louisville native and enjoys spending time with his family and friends in the area.
