Cardiothoracic surgeon Rosemarie O. Serrone, M.D., has joined Norton Heart & Vascular Institute, practicing at Norton Audubon Hospital.
As a member of the thoracic surgery team, Dr. Serrone treats conditions in the thorax, which can include the esophagus and lungs and lung cancer, in addition to cardiovascular conditions.
Dr. Serrone received her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and her cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Serrone has received additional training in robotic-assisted surgery, endoscopic surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Serrone’s clinical interests include:
- Benign and malignant disease of the lungs, esophagus, chest wall and mediastinum
- Focus on minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical interventions for general thoracic disease
- Surgical education
Recent co-authored research includes “Imaging and Computational Modeling of Tricuspid Regurgitation and Repair,” in Vessel Plus. She presented an oral presentation, “A Survivable and Repairable Case of a Right Anomalous Coronary Artery From the Pulmonary Artery in Conjunction With Left Main Coronary Artery Ostial Atresia,” at the University of Utah Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery Rumel Research Symposium.
