Referring providers in Bullitt County, Kentucky, and communities south of Louisville now have another local option for patients who need cardiovascular evaluation and ongoing management. Laura J. Pope, APRN, will provide general cardiology services at Norton Heart & Vascular Institute – Bullitt County, located in Shepherdsville. The new office will expand access to specialized evaluation, hospital follow-up, cardiovascular disease management and preventive care closer to patients’ homes.

Experienced Cardiology Care With a Focus on Prevention

Laura brings more than 20 years of nursing and advanced practice experience within Norton Healthcare that spans cardiology, hospital medicine, primary care and emergency care. Since joining Norton Heart & Vascular Institute in 2022, she has managed patients with complex cardiovascular conditions and coordinated multidisciplinary care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dual-certified as an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner, Laura offers a broad clinical perspective to cardiovascular care. Her approach emphasizes early identification of cardiovascular risk, disease prevention, patient education and ongoing management in collaboration with primary care providers and other specialists.   

“I like educating patients on prevention and risk reduction,” Laura said. “I have a family history of heart disease on both sides, so prevention and early detection are important to me.”
