Kent L. Walker, D.O., pediatric orthopedic surgeon, has joined Norton Children’s Orthopedics of Louisville.
Dr. Walker earned his undergraduate degree from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. He completed his residency at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee, and a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee.
Dr. Walker cares for kids with all types orthopedic conditions, including fractures, sports injuries, and foot and ankle conditions. He has special interests in pediatric spine conditions, such as scoliosis and neuromuscular spine disorders.
“We have something very unique in pediatric orthopedics that our counterparts in adult orthopedics do not have,” Dr. Walker said. “Not only do we have the child (patient), we have a whole team of supporters (parents, grandparents, siblings and the physician). When we all work together on the same team, it is a beautiful thing that helps the child heal.”
Dr. Walker is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association. He is married with three children. When he is not working, he loves being active and spending time outdoors. A fun fact about Dr. Walker is he played four years of soccer at Belmont University, an NCAA Division I school.
