Norton Clark Hospital is strengthening its commitment to provide high‑quality, convenient care close to home for families throughout Southern Indiana. With major technology upgrades, new specialty providers and expanded locations, patients now have more access than ever to the Norton Healthcare network.

Emergency care that’s growing with the community

The Emergency Department at Norton Medical Center, located in Jeffersonville Commons at 2023 Mercy Drive in Jeffersonville, has experienced significant growth over the past year. Patients are choosing this location for its access to emergency providers, short wait times and convenient parking. The department treats adults and children and offers seamless access to specialized services available from Norton Healthcare and Norton Children’s.

The on‑site diagnostic center offers advanced imaging, including 3D mammography, CT, MRI, X‑ray, ultrasound and DEXA scanning. The center allows patients to receive comprehensive testing and care in one convenient location.

New Sellersburg locations expand access to care

Orthopedic care

Norton Orthopedic Institute has opened a new office at 130 Hunter Station Way in Sellersburg. Orthopedic and sports health specialists diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, age‑related issues, injuries and athletic concerns. Ultrasound‑guided injections are available, and many patients can see a specialist the same day.

Two urgent care options opening soon

A Norton Immediate Care Center and Norton Prompt Care clinic will open later this year on the first floor of the Hunter Station Way facility. Designed to treat minor illnesses and injuries, the offices will offer walk‑in convenience or the option to reserve a spot through the MyChart app.

Advanced technology enhances patient care

New cardiac CT scanner

Norton Clark Hospital has added a $2 million cardiac CT scanner — one of only a few in the region. The scanner performs fast, high‑resolution imaging for the entire body and enhances the ability to detect heart disease, valve issues and congenital defects. Faster scan times and clearer images mean patients receive answers more quickly and confidently.

Renovated catheterization lab

The hospital’s newly renovated catheterization lab supports complex heart procedures using advanced sound‑wave imaging and 3D modeling. Providers can diagnose blockages more quickly and determine the best treatment plan without sending patients far from home. Some electrophysiology and peripheral vascular interventions are completed here as well.

Norton Clark Hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI by the American College of Cardiology and is a designated STEMI Receiving Center, equipped to rapidly treat severe heart attacks.

Second da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical system arriving this summer

A second Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical system will arrive this summer, along with two additional surgeons. Hernia repair remains the most common robotic-assisted procedure, but the technology also supports gallbladder and appendix removal, gynecologic surgeries such as hysterectomy and ovary removal, and urologic procedures including kidney removal due to cancer.

Robotic-assisted surgery helps enable increased precision, reduced blood loss, shorter recovery times, fewer scars and lower infection risk — driving the need for a second system.

Expanded endoscopy services

Norton Clark Hospital’s endoscopy team now offers endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with SpyGlass technology, allowing direct visualization and treatment of bile and pancreatic duct conditions. Minimally invasive gastrointestinal procedures, including bronchoscopy and colonoscopy, continue to be available.

Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

For nine years, the Level II NICU has provided specialized care for newborns at Norton Clark Hospital. The award-winning team continues to support families throughout Southern Indiana with quick access to Norton Children’s specialists for the highest level of care.
