Continuing medical education focusing on opioid epidemic now available online

Two presentations from the 2018 R. Dietz Wolfe, M.D. Lectureship, “A Fine Line: Abuse and Addiction,” now are available for viewing online.

The annual lectureship took place on Aug. 22, 2018, at The Olmsted in Louisville, Kentucky.

In 2016, Kentucky had the country’s fifth highest rate of deaths due to drug overdose. The opioid abuse epidemic is increasing, and addiction to opioids often begins with prescribed medications. Because of this staggering statistic, the 2018 R. Dietz Wolfe, M.D. Lectureship focused on educating physicians and clinicians of the latest reporting guidelines and the ability to recognize the early symptoms of abuse and red flags of addiction.
