Norton Healthcare has named Emmett Ramser chief administrative officer of Norton Children’s Hospital.
In his role, Ramser will oversee all facets of the hospital’s operations and work diligently to ensure that children throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana have access to specialty care. He also will oversee operations of Norton Children’s Medical Center in northeastern Jefferson County.
“I’m honored to join Norton Children’s Hospital in this capacity,” Ramser said. “The health and well-being of our children is so important to this community, and I look forward to working with our patients, families and staff to ensure we always provide the best possible care.”
Ramser, who was chosen following a national search, was named interim chief administrative officer of Norton Children’s Hospital in January.
“During his time as interim, Emmett displayed excellent leadership to support and enhance pediatric patient care in alignment with Norton Healthcare’s goals,” said Douglas A. Winkelhake, division president, hospital operations, Norton Healthcare.
Ramser joined Norton Healthcare in 1993 as a clinical pharmacist. Since then, he’s held numerous positions within the organization, including director of pharmacy and vice president, operations, at Norton Children’s Hospital. Most recently, he served as system vice president, facilities management, for Norton Healthcare and oversaw all real estate, construction, energy and security operations.
Ramser earned a doctoral degree in pharmacy from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. He and his wife, Barbara, have three children, Daniel, Matthew and Andrew.
