Dr. Barbosa has been a practicing child and adolescent psychiatrist in Southeastern Kentucky and an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic of Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Child psychiatrist Virginia F. Barbosa, M.D., has joined Norton Children’s Autism Center, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, and Norton Children’s Behavioral & Mental Health, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine.
Dr. Barbosa is board certified in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry.
For several years, Dr. Barbosa was medical director of Cumberland River Behavioral Health in Southeastern Kentucky. There, she helped create the Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic, where she also served as lead physician.
She received her medical training at the University of Brasilia, Brazil. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2009.
In addition to practicing child and adolescent psychiatry in Southeastern Kentucky, she was an adjunct faculty member at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic of Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee.
