Pharmacy Residency Program (PGY-1)

Norton Clark Hospital offers a 52-week, acute care-based pharmacy residency designed to build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and prepare a pharmacist practitioner for comprehensive clinical practice and the evolving role of a pharmacist in patient care.

Residents gain experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy, including:

  • Decentralized pharmacy practice  in a community hospital
  • Clinical  roles  across multiple hospitals
  • Teaching certificate through a local school of pharmacy
  • Development as a skilled clinical practitioner within an interdisciplinary team

Norton Clark Hospital, part of the Norton Healthcare system, is a full-service hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with an accredited chest pain center and 24/7 cardiac catheterization capabilities. It operates one of the busiest emergency departments in Southern Indiana. Clinical pharmacists work in a decentralized model,  enabling direct patient care.

Salary and Benefits

The resident is eligible for Norton Healthcare’s full employee benefits. The PGY1 resident is salaried and receives a stipend of $60,320 plus benefits. The position requires a commitment of 52 weeks. The estimated start date is late June.
