The affiliation between Norton Healthcare, UofL Physicians – Pediatrics and the University of Louisville School of Medicine makes it easier for children and their families to access comprehensive infectious diseases care connected to the Norton Children’s network.
This network provides a collaboration between subspecialties, access to inpatient care and improved continuity of care through Epic electronic medical records throughout the Norton Children’s system. Norton EpicLink allows providers to make a referral and stay connected to their patient’s progress, testing and care notes for any Norton Children’s encounter.
Specialists with Norton Children’s Infectious Diseases, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, have the training and experience to treat all types of infectious diseases. Our team is dedicated to caring for children with compassion.
Our specialists’ experience and skill span from common conditions to rare, complicated, or recurring infections; hard-to-diagnose conditions; suspected immune deficiency; and special circumstances for vaccination and antimicrobial prophylaxis.
Our physicians care for outpatients at the Novak Center for Children’s Health and provide inpatient consultation services at Norton Children’s Hospital and Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Additionally, our team offers physician-to-physician consultations and outpatient telemedicine services throughout the region.

Currently, Norton Children’s Infectious Diseases has programs in antimicrobial stewardship; infection control; diagnostic infectious diseases and molecular epidemiology; immunocompromised hosts; and vaccine developments. Our provider team is leading Norton Children’s in COVID-19 efforts, helping streamline infection prevention and providing patient care during the pandemic.
Each of the group’s physician providers are full-time faculty members at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and they represent a broad range of academic interests and clinical expertise.
